Our focus for writing so far this term has been on writing to persuade or argue - which means to state our opinion on a topic and try to make our audience agree with us. The result of all our hard work in class and at home has been the writing and presenting of persuasive speeches. Mr Blake was very pleased by the effort put in by the whole class and it was very hard to decide upon the best ones.
After some consideration two finalists were chosen. Room 5 was represented by Richard Fallon (Year 2) and Hayley Brown (Year 3) at whole school speech finals. Richard came first in the Year 2 final and Hayley achieved second place for Year 3. An outstanding effort from these two that Room 5 can be very proud of. Well done!
Wow Richard and Hayley, what excellent work persuading others with your writing, and how brave you both are to speak in front of the whole school. You are doing so well. I'm very impressed.
